Rally Against U.S. Imperialism In Latin America

Rally At Parliament Against U.S. Imperialism In Latin America

Saturday 24 January 2pm
Rally at Parliament then march to US Embassy

Wherever you’re from, people deserve a real say over their country’s political leadership, economy, and future. But across Latin America, that basic right is being threatened by foreign interference, coercion, and ongoing threats of forced political takeover.
For more than a century, the United States has repeatedly overruled the democratic will of Latin American peoples, supporting coups against elected governments, installing dictatorships and far‑right regimes which murder political dissidents and trade unionists, crush popular movements, brutalise Indigenous communities, tear apart forests, rivers, and ecosystems, and push working people into hardship and degrading conditions. All of it to safeguard the profits of U.S. corporations and maintain control over other countries’ resources, markets, and political direction.
Will people in Aotearoa allow themselves to be complacent?
Latin America is not a prize to be claimed or a resource pit to be exploited. It is home to hundreds of millions of people who deserve justice, peace, democracy, and true self‑determination.
Imperialism is the number one force standing in the way of all of these things. And that’s why here in Aotearoa, we are rising together in solidarity to say, loudly and without apology:
Hands off Latin America. Smash U.S. imperialism. Power to the people to determine their own future.
